Febras: Dawn’s Day. A holiday mostly in Doramor, the day is marked with festivals that begin in the morning and continue into evening. Public galleries of ice sculptures are common, if the weather permits. The main event occurs in the morning, when the behavior of the native scurridai is observed, and their reactions to the weather are alleged to be an indicator of how much longer Winter will be.

Febras, AF 872: Birth of King Tinamer VII of Doramor. He would rule for almost 50 years before the strain of leading his nation during the Unity Wars would force him to abdicate to his son, King Tinamer VIII.

Febras, AF 391: Publication of “The Saga of Balanor”, the second most popular book in Terranis’ history, only behind The Book of Light.

Febras, AF 411: Restaurering Dag (Restoration Day). The rebuilding efforts of Saernis City, razed during the Dragon War decades previously, are finally declared complete. To celebrate the new city, it is renamed Kunskaborg.

Febras, AF 112: Birth of King Renoir II of Saniel. He would fight numerous aggressive campaigns to purge the lands around Varennes of Great Enemy presence, expanding the border of Saniel by hundreds of miles.

Febras, AF 981: Ascension of King Tinamer VIII to the throne of Doramor. Whereas his father, Tinamer VII was nicknamed “The Old King” because he did not ascend until the age of 44, Tinamer VIII is known as “The Young King” due to becoming king at only age 18. Tinamer VIII is the current ruler of Doramor, having reigned for 35 years.

Febras, AF 790: The “Grand-Wahl” (Grand Election) is completed, so named because it is the longest voting period for a new Grand Baron of Korneth in history, taking over three years and nearly two hundred votes for the gremium to finally decide on a singular leader.

Febras, AF 81: Through a collaborative effort, several scholars in Saernis City are able to build the first after-Fall telescope (all previously extant copies had been destroyed). Decades are spent refining the device, producing additional copies, and re-cataloging the stars in the night sky.

Febras: Winter Conclave. A Universalist holiday, the day is marked not so much by observance of a certain event or ritual as it is encouraged to be used as a day of special meditation and re-centering, especially during the bleak days of Winter. Most active practitioners will take the day off from work and/or attend group exercises.

Febras, AF 171: Birth of King Charles II of Saniel. Perhaps due to spending his childhood amidst the decadence caused by his father, he tended to be a lethargic ruler, and accomplished little of note.

Febras, AF 981: Jonald Corrandor of Doramor develops a means of pressurizing liquids and projecting them in a concentrated stream from a storage unit. His first use is to fill the unit with a flammable liquid, ignite it, and use the subsequent streams of fire to melt as much snow on the streets of Eastmarch as he can. Although highly effective, unfortunately, after several houses are set on fire, Jonald is arrested and his device is confiscated.

Febras, AF 92: With the defeat of the army of Skudder the Vicious, Saniel declares victory in its part of the First Barbarian Wars. Several decades of peace would ensue until its expansion campaigns in the next century.

Febras, AF 992: The Armistice of 992 formalizes the borders between Doramor, Saernis, and Korneth, which had been in flux for the past several decades from the Unity Wars. With the signing of the Armistice, all three nations cease their military activities and the Unity Wars end on the continent of Orius (although Saniel and Weijin would continue their part on Occidus for several more years).

Febras: Several major events occurred on this day.

AF 180: The Siege of Varennes ends with the defeat of the Lustlord Lucifon at the hands of the warrior Doramor in single combat.
AF 181: According to legend and most other sources, this is the day when Doramor was presented with the child Lucilia by the angel Nephilis as a gift for his service. As she had no memory of living in Heaven, despite being over ten years old by the time she met her adoptive father, her actual birthday is unknown and celebrated on this day. It is the second most important secular holiday in Doramor, other than Founding Day.
AF 189: Lucilia Doramor departs home on her 18th birthday to travel the world, heading east to Orius.

Febras, AF 996: Birth of Crown Princess Lucilia II of Doramor. The current heir to the throne, she was so named for being born on the same day as the original Lucilia. To date, she has remained unmarried, and has developed a reputation as a powerful mage.

Febras, AF 312: The explorer Conrad LeBlanc publishes his report on his findings from the island of Daeldren. Becoming widely available across Terranis, the report speaks of vast natural resources, unclaimed by any nation. Five separate nations promptly dispatch armies to lay claim to the island and the Bastion Wars begin.

Febras, AF 970: Birth of Emperor Wei Li Akira, the current ruler of the Weijin Empire. In the last twenty years, his policies have grown increasingly militaristic in response to rising incidents of rebellion across the Empire, and, though his popularity has waned of late, he remains committed to keeping the Empire unified through any means necessary.

Febras, AF 41: The Sunlady, a sailing vessel commanded by Jean Packar of Saniel, completes the first trans-global voyage, sailing a complete circuit around the world in 61 days.

Febras, AF 601: World premiere of “Redolence of the Count” by Javier Sulemas at the Crescent Theater in Jorandek. To date, “Redolence” has been the most popular play in Terranis’ history, having been performed more than twice as many times as the next most popular play.

Febras, AF 890: Birth of Grand Baron Konrad Schweitzel the Usurper, known as such for allegedly assassinating Grand Baron Karl Holzen and rigging the subsequent election to lead the Korneth gremium. However, no substantial evidence could be discovered, and so charges were never brought forth.

Febras, AF 942: Birth of Johan von Luther, author of the Encyclopedia Terranis, one of the most comprehensive collections of information available today, and source of these daily historical entries.

Febras, AF 306: A collective of talented blacksmiths in Korneth develop a purification technique that eliminates most carbon impurities from iron, leading to the re-development of the first steel alloys.

Febras, AF 670: First public unveiling of the “Maiden in Jorandek” by Fredrick Villson of Saernis, widely considered today the best painting created in Terranis’ history.

Febras, AF 701: Formal drafting of the charter governing the Brotherhood of Free Traders, the oldest and currently largest trade union in the world. Beginning simply as a means for merchants to work together in the newfound economic freedom following the Second Barbarian Wars, it has grown to contain hundreds, if not thousands, of members across Terranis. Rumors persist (and fictional works are often written) of the Brotherhood having a secretive “inner circle” which engages in various conspiracies, but the Brotherhood routinely denies any truth to these.

Febras, AF 276: Beginning of the Siege of Kaldoris, the final battle of the Tritanium War.

Febras, AF 904: Ascension of King Renoir III of Saniel. King Renoir was the third cousin of the previous king, Charles VI, whose entirely family was assassinated or exiled by a coalition of rebellious lords after his death in 903. Although Renoir III was installed ostensibly as a puppet of the noble lords, for fear of his life, within a year he had enacted a plan which saw all the lords and their houses destroyed under seemingly unrelated and “mysterious” circumstances. No conclusive evidence that Renoir III was even behind the events emerged until nearly fifty years later.

Febras, AF 212: Following the Upplysning Conference in Saernis City, a conclave of scientists publishes the Codex Physica, a tome collecting the leading scientific theories of the time, establishing the fields of physics and thermodynamics.

Febras, AF 560: Birth of Queen Ashlynn I of Doramor, known as “The Prosperous” for her successful continuation (and expansions) of the rebuilding efforts her father, King Adrian II, implemented to bring Doramor back into wealth after the War of the Thrones.

Febras: Festival of Light. Originally a Druidic festival, the holiday is marked by dances, prayers, and offerings on this day during particularly bitter or long winters to entreat nature to bring about Spring with haste. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the holiday has grown popular in non-Druid circles as well, although the exact nature of the festivities varies wildly between locales.
